Medical Marijuana and Mental Health: 1.5 CEU hrs

Presented by Dr. Nzinga Harrison, Chief Medical Officer, Anka Behavioral Health, Inc.
This 1.5 hour CEU session that has been approved by the GSCSW will cover the following objectives:
- Understand the medical and political history of cannabis
- Describe the components of the cannabis plant and their relationship to the risks and benefits of its use
- Review the evidence regarding cannabis use for physical and mental health conditions.
- Understand the current legal status of medical marijuana in the U.S. and Georgia specifically

A well-respected physician and educator, Dr. Harrison is the Chief Medical Officer for Anka Behavioral Health Inc. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Spanish and Chemistry minors at Howard University, completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and General Psychiatry Residency at Emory University. She is Board-Certified in both Adult General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and has spent her career treating individuals with Serious Persistent Mental Illness and Addictive Diseases.
